The Family Tree

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a really clear picture of how all the people in Tulku Urgyen's family were related? One that shows the three children of the great treasure revealer Chokgyur Lingpa, one of which was Tulku Urgyen's grandmother, the lady who told him so many of these amazing stories when he was a small child? And how the family branched out from her through her son Chimey Dorje, the Immortal Vajra, a rogue turned siddha, the grandfather of Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche?
Luckily Ayshen Delemen has made one and you can download it right here: http://www.rangjung.com/blazing/FamilyTree.pdf

Paul, the photo #105 is of a secondary (parallel) tulku of the Tsikey Chokling. He lives at the Tsikey monastery in Kham and is closely connected with Tulku Urgyen, from whom he received many empowerments and teachings. The complete transmission of the New Treasures he requested and received in Nepal from from his parallel tulku -- no competition -- Mingyur Dewey Dorje, who is the second son of Tulku Urgyen.

Second, I'm not informed about the circumstances surrounding the passing of the 16th Karmapa, but did have a chance to pay respect at the hospital together with Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche some years back.

Family Tree
There are many other members in the family not shown in the chart, but we had to leave them out for lack of space. My deep apologies!
First of all. Uncle Tersey had a grandchild and I met her, a nun, at Tsikey Gompa in Nangchen.
His older brother, Chimey Dorje, had many children and we only show two -- Penjik (Pema Jigmey) and Tulku Urgyen. There were several tulkus and lamas and they are mentioned in Blazing Splendor. One sister was Tsagah, a nun who lived with Tulku Urgyen at Nagi Gompa for many years. Another of Tulku Urgyen’s sisters was still alive in Jekundu in 2003. I met about twenty of these descendant of Chimey Dorje back in Nangchen.
Moreover, Tenpa La has a son in Germany and Orgyen Jigmey has a daughter as well.

Dear Erik Pema Kunsang, please, where has the family tree gone? This would be so very helpful for all of us! Thank you für sharing it again! Best wishes, Zoé
