Young Lamas Home School in Dalhousie
The British woman Frida Bedi arranged in the early 1960s for many of the young tulkus -- recently arriving from Tibet and Kham -- to continue their education in a school in Dalhousie. Standing, third from the right, is Chogyam Trungpa Rinpoche who was one of the teachers at the time. Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche was also asked to send his two sons -- Chokyi Nyima and Chokling who remained for six months before they were summonded by the Karmapa to Rumtek.
If you know any of the other lamas on the picture, please click on "comment" and write them in.

On a recent trip to Halifax, Walter Fordham gave me this photo and asked if I could help identifying some of the other people. It is possible that Ani Tenzin Palmo would know since she was secretary to Mrs. Bedi at some time.
I 100% sure Walter Fordham would be delighted to have a copy of that. Maybe you could post it here?
Oh yes. I would like a copy of that photo. Thanks for identifying Ringu Tulku.

Hello everybody,
I'm afraid that Zoran is wrong. That young Tulku is not Ringu Tulku. If you look at the picture I put online at
http://homepage.mac.com/francoish/Ringu_Tulku/PhotoAlbum26.html
you can recognize Ringu Tulku easily. He didn't change a bit!
The young Tulku from Erik's pic is in front of Mrs. Bedi.
Sitting on ground second from right looks like Khenpo Palden Sherab Rinpoche.
Karma Tinley Rinpoche should know as he was the teacher for Kagyu, Sakya and Nyingma tulkus there before he went to Tilokpur.
I am an old student of this once famous tulku school. I would be much grateful if anyone could send some more photos of this school and related topics. my email id is: langthong@yahoo.com and my name is Khating Tulku.
The person second from the right knelt on the ground is not Khenpo Palden Sherab Rinpoche but my teacher Akong Tulku Rinpoche, who was at the time always close to Trungpa Rinpoche.
I know that among the Lamas at the school was Ato Rinpoche and Akong Tulku's brother Jamdra, now known as Lama Yeshe Losal. But if they are present in this photo it is hard to tell.

Another possibility for your photos from the school:
Thepo Tulku (Gelug) - currently lives in Santa Barbara, CA (formerly lived in the San Francisco bay area and helped quite a lot to get the Tibetan community center in El Cerrito, CA a few years ago.)

I asked Karma Thinley Rinpoche about this photo. Hes not 100% sure on them but this is what he said.
Back row from left to write
Tulku Trowa
A sakya lama (can't remember his name)
Tsewang Tulk
Thartang Tulku (maybe)
Trugpa Rinpoche
Khenpo Rinchen (from Shechen in Tibet)
Tulku Tsuthub

Maybe Ringu Tulku
Unknown Drukpa Tuklu (from Bhutan)
Khonor Tulku, the youngest on the right.
I am surprised no one has recognised a young Akong Rinpoche seated next to Drukpa Kentrul
Cherry.
The shorter of the two children certainly looks like Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche who, according to his biography, was at the school from age 8 to age 13.
