I am able to put more into context so to speak. And you're right - the book is full of so much information and stories that it may indeed take even more reading. A second read will reveal all kinds of things i am sure. But on page 99 in the chapter titled "My Guru Samten Gyatso," Tulku Urgyen relates the following: "Everyone was afraid of him. In 2003 Marcia and I met many other lamas who had received teachings from Samten Gyatso, but several have died within the last three years. There are however many who received his lineage through Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, something Tulku Urgyen doesn't mention in Blazing Splendor.Erik Pema Kunsanghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15065281671070441076noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12855129.post-1158325454803736752006-09-15T06:04:00.000-07:002006-09-15T06:04:00.000-07:00That's an interesting question. I must assume there are other old practitioners tucked away in Kham who were students of Samten Gyatso's, but from Tulku Urgyen's accounts i am under the impression Samten Gyatso didn't have that many "students" as it seems most people were afraid of him. But perhaps Erik can give a more knowing answer, as mine is only conjecture.pensumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08253154717997773018noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-12855129.post-1158093710430692932006-09-12T13:41:00.000-07:002006-09-12T13:41:00.000-07:00so does that mean Adeu Rinpoche is Samten Gyatso's...so does that mean Adeu Rinpoche is Samten Gyatso's last living student?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
